In 2018, the Microsoft CSS office, located in Embassy Golf Links Bangalore, commissioned me and a friend to design the wall panels within their office. The objective was to create a positive work atmosphere that would encourage team spirit and echo their brand mission for that year.
The concept was to utilise the term "WE" which would bring out unity and the strength of teamwork.
This would emphasise the value system that the employees exist as one unit with the company. Together, all of them help achieve a certain goal; together, all of them work towards success, and only if they are all together will the customer also be satisfied.
The visuals used were the most simplified, minimalistic version of the corresponding statement for that specific panel. By using bright colours and icon-based illustrations, the goal was to get across the message in an easily understandable and vibrant way.
The mission for that year was called the North Star pledge and it echoed a spirit of teamwork which would help the office to achieve more as a unified unit
We created content through simple two or three word phrases which would encourage and echo the mission, as well as the company’s values and beliefs with regards to both employee and customer satisfaction.
Moreover, the minimalistic icon-based visuals used in each of the panels paired with the vibrant brand colours from Microsoft’s palette was selected keeping in mind the office ambience and how we could best enhance it for the workforce. Most basic representations of the statements used in the panels to describe Microsoft’s brand values and mission.
